{ work assignment }

it has been a couple of weeks in since we moved into the new store. lots of shelving and cleaning and unpacking and stocking of items and basically setting up our new second home, preparing for our grand opening on the 30th.

one of the supervisors approached me last week, asked about my schedule for this week, and said she needed me in monday, but wouldnt tell me why. a surprise, she said, and promised i'd love it. i later found out she'd wanted me to set up 9 display areas in the craft and party section!

and so monday came, we had a balloon training session in the morning, and by afternoon the inside of the store was filled with balloons of all sorts, as was the ceiling. then it was time to work out my displays, and i had help from a (very tall) lady who's had lots of experience with displays. i managed to convince the bosses that i needed a proper work station and proper tools, to get part of the display items done. and so i got myself tuesday off to do nothing but art and craft!

i reasoned with the bosses that i need to work from home because i had a proper work station. if only they could have seen this!
